April through June and September into October give mild days for walking the Mecsek and touring wineries, without summer's high-30s heat or winter's grey. May is Pécs's busiest cultural month, with open-air events around the Zsolnay Quarter. Harvest runs Villány from September into early October, when wineries are working but still open for tastings.
