How to spend less
- Eat at the Duong Dong wet market in the morning rather than the night market at night; the same seafood, local prices, no per-100g pricing trick.
- Rent your motorbike from a guesthouse in Duong Dong rather than a resort desk, which typically doubles the daily rate.
- Buy Sun World and VinWonders tickets on the operators' own websites or apps rather than through a hotel tour desk, and look for the multi-park combo before buying either separately.
- Book the island-hopping boat directly with an An Thoi dive shop instead of a hotel; the same boat costs noticeably less and you skip the hotel commission.
- Fill in at a com binh dan (rice plate) shop inland from the beach road for around 50,000 VND, a third of a beachfront lunch.
- Skip bottled water and refill; several cafes along the Long Beach road do free or 5,000 VND refills, and the island's plastic problem is visible on the sand.
