April through June and September through October give mild weather with thinner crowds than Bruges ever has, since Antwerp draws far fewer day-trip coaches. July and August are warm and busiest around outdoor cafes on the Grote Markt. December brings a Christmas market and lit streets worth the cold; January and February are quiet and grey, good for museums.
