Late June to early September for warm, reliable weather and the longest opening hours, though it's also the most crowded and priciest stretch. Late September into early October brings strong fall colour along the river. Winter (December-March) is genuinely cold, with real snow accumulation, and is worth building a trip around on purpose rather than avoiding, especially for Carnaval de Québec in February.
