When to go

May to September is dry season and the easiest stretch, less flooding, fewer sudden downpours that snarl traffic further. October to April is the wet season; November through February brings the heaviest rain and occasional flash flooding in low-lying areas like Kemang and parts of North Jakarta. Temperature barely moves year-round, 24-33°C, so 'best time' here is really about rain and traffic, not heat.

Jakarta sits in Indonesia, so the country's broader seasonal pattern applies. May through September is the dry season across most of the archipelago and the easiest window to visit Bali, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bandung together. June and September avoid the July-August peak crowds and prices while keeping the same weather.
