How These G1 Questions Are Written and Checked
This page is an honest account of where questions come from, how they're checked, and what happens when we're wrong.
Where questions come from
Every question on this site is written directly from official Ontario sources: the Official MTO Driver's Handbook, the Highway Traffic Act, and the Ontario Traffic Manual. Questions are not copied from other practice-test sites, and government text is never reproduced commercially; questions are written in our own wording, to test understanding of the source material, not to quote it.
Every question is cited
Every question in the bank carries a citation: which handbook chapter it came from, the exact page or subsection, and a short supporting quote from that source. Our signs questions, for example, cite the handbook's Signs and Traffic Lights chapters directly. If you want to see the source for a specific question, it's attached to the question itself when you answer it.
Figures that change
Fines, demerit points, and licensing fees change over time and are set by regulation, not by us. Anywhere a question or page states one of these figures, it's flagged so you know to double-check it against an official source before relying on it.
What we don't do
We don't reproduce the handbook's text wholesale, we don't claim government endorsement, and we don't invent statistics about pass rates or question difficulty that haven't actually been measured. If we don't know something, we say so rather than guess.
Report a mistake
Found a question that looks wrong, outdated, or unclear? Use the "Report a mistake" link on the question itself. Every report is reviewed against the source material listed above, and confirmed errors are corrected, question and citation both.
